The Jubilee Theater produces musicals and plays with universal meanings that reflect the African-American experience. Since opening in 1981, the theater has doubled its budget, increased its body of work, and has a growing audience. Jubilee performs works like "Travelin' Shoes" and "The Tempest" for over 15,000 people annually. The theater started an educational program that has reached over 38,000 students in the Fort Worth Independent School District. Through its work and community outreach, the Jubilee Theater has become an artistic community leader.
